Is Inbox AI really free?
Yes. Local mode uses Ollama and a model installed on your computer, with no API key and no charge for each generated email.
Do I need to run commands every time?
No. The guided setup is done once. The local helper then starts automatically with Windows or macOS.
Does it work without internet?
Draft generation can run locally after setup. Gmail itself still needs an internet connection to receive and send email.
Which languages are supported?
Inbox AI can write in multiple languages and includes regional guidance for European Portuguese and Simplified Chinese.
What computer do I need?
Windows 10 or 11, or macOS 14 Sonoma or later, with at least 8 GB of RAM is recommended. Apple Silicon and Intel Macs are supported; Intel runs the model on the CPU.
